🔤 Terminology

To start off, let’s clarify some terminology!

• NFT: It’s short for Non-Fungible Token, and it’s a unique token with art and utility conferred to its owner. Your Guava Girls NFT could be thought of it as a membership card to our community
• Wallet: It’s the app you use to connect your computer with the Ethereum blockchain and interact with it. As the name suggests, it’s how you’ll be able to spend the ETH (Ethereum’s native currency) and buy/sell NFTs as well as other cryptocurrencies.
• Crypto Exchange: Like a foreign currency exchange, these are the easiest way to purchase ETH. You’ll need ETH in order to purchase the Guava Girls NFT.
• Minting: Minting is the process of creating the NFT on the blockchain. When an NFT is minted, that unique NFT starts to exist on the blockchain. Another way to think of it is that it’s the initial sale of the NFT collection.
• Minting Site: The minting website is the site where you purchase and create(mint) the NFT during the initial sale. You’ll connect your wallet here, pay the ETH, and receive your NFT.

👜 Setting Up Your Ethereum Wallet

The first thing you’ll want to do is set up your Ethereum wallet. Once you have selected your wallet, remember that you should always have a written down paper backup of your seed phrase, and that you should never give it to anybody regardless of who asks. Giving your seed phrase to somebody else lets them take anything from your wallet. In traditional banking, it’s the same as adding them as a joint owner of your account!
